There’s something about Balboa Park that feels like stepping into a European daydream without ever leaving California. The architecture, the palm trees swaying in the breeze, the hidden gardens tucked behind archways — it’s romantic in that quiet, cinematic way I will forever love.
Jordan and Ryan’s engagement session felt exactly like that: effortless, elevated, and full of heart.
Starting at Casa del Prado Theater
We began in front of the iconic Casa del Prado Theater — dramatic columns, ornate details, and that timeless black-and-white energy that just hits.
Jordan was fierce in her Revolve look (the lace, the movement, the confidence 🔥), and Ryan looked so classic in his navy suit. Watching them walk across the street with those long shadows behind them felt like a still from a Nancy Meyers film.
From the very beginning, the way Ryan looked at Jordan said everything. Soft. Intentional. Completely in it.
Twirling Through the Botanical Gardens
Next, we wandered over to the lush beauty of the San Diego Botanical Building. The filtered light streaming through the glass ceiling gave us that dreamy, sun-soaked glow I’m always chasing.
They danced along the pathways, tucked into each other between tropical greens, and shared the kind of kisses that make you forget anyone else is around. It felt intimate and playful all at once — like they were the only two people in the world.
And truly? That’s how it should feel.
California Romance, The Best Way
Jordan brought the fashion. Ryan brought the tenderness. Together, they brought the kind of love that’s easy and grounded but still electric.
Balboa Park gave us European architecture and old-world charm, but their connection is what made it unforgettable.
And now… I absolutely cannot wait to photograph their wedding at the La Jolla Cove Rooftop. Ocean views, coastal light, and these two saying “I do”? It’s going to be unreal.
