Jeff and I ran away for the weekend to a little place in the middle of nowhere California to Agua Caliente Camping and State Park. It truly is a diamond in the rough, a beautiful contrast of desert and oasis. We had this wonderful little secluded tent camping site away from the rest of the campers, complete privacy which was amazing. Our puppy dog Coco had plenty of room to run around and explore. They also have three pools that are filled with natural spring water from the surrounding oasis, two are outdoors and one is in a greenhouse. The pool in a green house is setup like a spa, it was so incredibly relaxing! I cannot believe how green everything was despite being stuck in the middle of a desert. I was so beyond excited to truly test out my new camera lens, I got a 2.8 24-70MM Canon Lens. It sure did not disappoint! Enjoy XOXO!
After our first night of camping, we wanted to explore the surrounding areas. Jeff went to get some more firewood from the local store and on the wall of the store was a local map of the trails in the desert. He found out from another camper that there was a trail in the desert that lead to some big mud caves! Along the way we took a detour and found the Very First Oasis to be discovered in California called Palm Spring, it had three palm trees and a tiny stream. http://www.borregospringschamber.com/landmarks/#639
From there we got on the correct trail and traveled about 15 miles or so into the desert and found the Arroyo Tapiado Mud Caves. It was an absolutely beautiful breath taking adventure.

We then traveled to another trail called El Diablo, we were the only ones exploring this trail. The map said that it lead to a location called the El Diablo Dropoff. We decided not to go far enough to find out what it was!
Coco loved every minute of the camping trip! I love this photograph of her, it is absolutely hilarious! Her favorite part was at night and she had the chance to be bundled up in a blanket in one of the chairs in front of the fire!
After a long fun day, we took a dip in the regular hot spring pool and the heated one in the green house! What a fun way to end the evening we were so wiped out that we were in our tent at 8pm lol!
It truly was an incredible trip, one for the books! Hope you enjoyed the photographs XOXO Paige
